Rockford, Iowa — Roger Kenneth Quade, 64, of Rockford died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 8, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 423 Bradford St., Marble Rock, with Pastor Gary Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the Marble Rock Chapel. Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Roger Quade Memorial Fund, Box 219, Greene, IA 50636

Rockford, Iowa — Funeral services for Roger Kenneth Quade, 64, of Rockford, will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 423 Bradford Street, Marble Rock, with Pastor Gary Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the Marble Rock Chapel.

Roger Kenneth Quade was born August 6, 1948, in Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Everett and Josephine Ethel (Nott) Quade, and died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

He received his education in public schools, graduating from Charles City High School in 1967. He was baptized on October 24, 1948, and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene.

Roger was united in marriage in 1970 and was blessed with three children, Bryan, Kevin and Lorie. Roger worked as a farmer, he also did carpentry and construction. He was a jolly individual, easygoing and carefree.

He liked to hunt and fish, was an avid reader of Western books, played cards, and enjoyed thresher engine shows or anything to do with John Deere machinery. Roger spent many hours cutting wood in the “Quade’s Woods,” known to his family as one of his favorite places. Most of all Roger loved his family and treasured the times spent playing games with his grandchildren.

Roger is survived by his children, Bryan R. (Bridgette) Quade, Charles City, Kevin J. Quade, Cascade, and Lorie J. Quade, Mason City; six grandchildren: Samantha, Makenzi, Zackary, Mikayla, Kaitlyn and Iversen Quade; sisters and brothers: Marge Hansen, California, Marcus (Carol) Quade, Charles City, Marcella (Jim) Labounty, Charles City, Mary Lee (Dennis) Mehmen, Nashua, and Keith Quade, Charles City; and an aunt and uncle, Warren (Evelyn) Nott, Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ethel Quade, and one nephew, Jeff Hansen.
