NORA SPRINGS MAN DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Nora Springs – Funeral services were pending at the Sheckler Funeral Home for Louie M. Knutson, 74, who died at his home here Tuesday following a heart attack. He had observed his birthday the day before his death and had not been ill. The stroke came as he was preparing to go downtown and cast his ballot.

Mr. Knutson was born at Newark, Illinois November 2, 1879, one of 10 children of Nels and Magli Knutson. At the age of two, he moved with his parents to Lake Preston, South Dakota, where he grew to manhood.

In 1919, he was married to Mrs. Amy Strong. One daughter, Louise, was born to the couple. The family moved to Nora Springs in 1929 from Charles City, where they had lived for four years. They have resided here for the past 24 years.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter; Miss Louise Knutson, of St. Paul, Minnesota; two step-daughters Mrs. Thelma McQuay of St. Paul; and Mrs. Walter (Edith) Aamot of Buffalo, Minnesota; two sisters; Mrs. Cliff (Lena) Burlingame of Los Angeles and Mrs. Arthur (Nellie) Kopperud of Lake Preston, South Dakota; three step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The date of the funeral had not been set, awaiting work from his sister in California.

The Mrs. Amy Strong that he married mentioned in the obit was Amy Mae (Dane) Strong, the daughter of Joseph Dane and Flora (Holcomb) Strong. Her first husband was Fred Strong.
