MARBLE ROCK, IOWA — Funeral services for Duane Brunner, 63, of Marble Rock, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marble Rock, with Pastor Robert Scheurer officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St., Greene, with a public Scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

Duane Brunner died Monday, January 21, 2013, at his home in Marble Rock.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Marble Rock Public Library or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Duane Brunner

Duane Brunner was born on August 18, 1949, in Greene, Butler County, Iowa a son of Orville and Lydia (Constien) Brunner and died Monday, January 21, 2013, at his home in Marble Rock. He received his education in public schools graduating from RRMR in 1967. Following graduation he worked building grain bins for Farm Service in Charles City.

Duane was a resident of Marble Rock that moved to his current home in 1965. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marble Rock. He worked for the Molasses Factory in Rudd for many years, worked for Featherlite in Nashua and has worked for the past 10 years at Sukup in Sheffield.

Duane was a quiet man, he was an avid reader, liked to garden, loved the Green Bay Packers, and tractor pulls. He was a very faithful follower of the local sporting events; especially the ones in which his nieces and nephews were participating. Duane was family oriented and very close to his sisters.

Living family members include his two sisters: Lynette Brunner of Marble Rock, and Jolene (Ron) Stotler of Greene and one honorary sister Marlene (Jerald) Nott of Nashua; nieces and nephews: Brent Brunner, Christopher (Rachel) Brunner, Alissa (Darren) Pfannebecker, Brandon Stotler, Jared (Valerie) Brunner, Ronnie Stotler; two Aunts: Joyce Constien of Greene and Esther Brunner of Charles City; ten great-nieces and nephews; and a faithful canine companion, Annie.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Steven; and a sister in infancy, Brenda.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Marble Rock Public Library or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
