Floyd, Iowa — Dennis Johnson, 53, of Floyd, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.
Memorial services for Dennis Johnson will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd. Pastor Martha Bennett will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.
The family will greet friends at the church an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Dennis Virgil Johnson was born November 10, 1959, at Charles City, the son of Clayton and LaVonne (Hoel) Johnson. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1978 and then from North Iowa Area Community College. In 1982 he was married to Mary Harrington. They later divorced. Dennis worked at various jobs over the years until he had to go on disability. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. His interests included going to truck pulls, collecting International trucks and watching movies. Dennis looked forward to spending time with his family and Mennonite friends. He will be remembered for his desire to help others.
Living family members include two children, Brian (Kelly) Johnson of Nevada and Marcy Johnson and special friend Ryan Ross of Charles City; a grandson, Jace Johnson; parents, Clayton and LaVonne Johnson of Floyd; two brothers, Mike (Connie) Johnson of Greene and Kevin (Beth) Johnson of Medway, Mass.; three sisters, Jacquie (Dave) Watson of Charles City, Darcie Regan of Floyd and Karla (Mike) Byrd of Sterling, Ill.; his former wife, Mary Sargent, several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Earl.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
