Floyd, Iowa - Eleanor Miner, 95, of Floyd, died Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Eleanor Miner will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Martha Bennett of Grace United Methodist Church at Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday an hour prior to the service.

The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Miner, 95, of Floyd, died Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Eleanor Mae Huntley Miner was born April 16, 1917, at Belmond, the daughter of Clayton and Addie (Guest) Huntley. The family moved to a farm northeast of Clear Lake. She received her education from Cerro Gordo county country schools. On February 18, 1934, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Miner. Eleanor worked with her husband on dairy farms in the Clear Lake area. In 1939 they moved to Osage where they owned and operated Miner's Dairy. They later moved to Floyd. She worked at various cafes in Floyd as well as did babysitting for 32 children over the years.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, organized the 60 Plus Club at Floyd, Women of the Moose in Mason City earning her cap and gown for her work, and while at Cedar Health she was instrumental in organizing the Red Hat Society and presented many interesting programs for them. Eleanor enjoyed fishing and was happiest when she was on the lake in a fishing boat.

Living family members include two children, Patricia Rademacher of Helena, Montana, and Roger (Linda) Miner of Lincoln, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert Miner on Feburary 22, 2003; a brother, Charles Huntley and a son-in-law, Verle Rademacher.
