OBITUARY.

This community has yielded still another of its pioneers, and another loved and honored mother has entered the Haven of Rest, where we lay our burden down.

Rebecca Jane Goble was born on November 5, 1832, in Niles, Michigan. She was united in marriage to B.R. Franklin on May 2, 1858, and to this union was born seven children. Eugene died in infancy, and still surviving are: Eva Franklin Strong, Maggie Franklin Yargan of Alexandria, Minnesota, Edward, Elmer, William H. and Albert O., who area well known and respected residents of Marble Rock. The husband and father passed on February 24, 1900.

Mrs. Franklin united with the Christian Church in 1890, and until failing health prevented, she was a faithful attendant at the house of the Lord.

She was the eldest surviving member of her family, and in addition to the members of her own household, there are left to mourn one sister, Mrs. Maggie Lang, Clear Lake, Iowa, and one brother, Harry Goble of Sunnyside, Washington.

She was deeply loved by her family, as her tastes were modest, her desires few, and her interest and affection was centered in her home.
