CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Maejeanette Staudt, 84, of Charles City, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City. The Rev. Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

The Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, 641-228-2323, is in charge of arrangements.

Maejeanette Staudt, 84, of Charles City, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Maejeanette Darlene Miller Staudt was born May 13, 1928, the daughter of Peter and Lottie (Sudol) Miller. She received her education and graduated from Nashua High School in 1946. On September 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Fredrick Staudt at the Little Brown Church. Maejeanette was employed for many years as a secretary for the engineering department at White Farm in Charles City before her retirement. She then worked as a Court Attendant at the Floyd County Courthouse.

She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved to volunteer. Maejeanette enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, singing, and playing both the organ and piano. Maejeanette was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City, Women's Club, and Saint Teresa's Circle, serving as a past president.

Living family members include daughters, Diane (Todd) Wolf of North Hudson, Wis., Kathy (John) Cannon of Memphis, Tenn.; son, David (Mary) "Micheleen" Staudt of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Jessica (Todd) Neumann, Mathew (Jessica) Wolf, Josh (Kristie) Cannon, Kate (Pravi) Thakkar, Weezie Cannon, Nathaniel, Mark, and Alec Staudt; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Harold (Marjorie) Staudt of Charles City.

Maejeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fredrick on February 24, 1996, and siblings Wendell Miller, and Lilith O'Connell.
