Louise was born on June 20, 1926 in San Francisco, Calif. She grew up in the San Francisco area and graduated from High School before being united in marriage to Merle Oeltjenbruns on February 25, 1945 in San Francisco. After their marriage the family moved to Charles City where she worked at the local telephone company first as an operator and later in the business office. After 33 plus years she retired in 1981. Louise was active in the community being a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Women of The Moose, the VFW, and the M & M Birthday Club. She was a serious bowler and was a member of the 500 Club. She later served and thoroughly enjoyed being a foster grandparent for several students at one of the local schools. She liked being around her dogs and cats and especially enjoyed the trips to Minnesota where she fished with family and many friends.

Those left to cherish her memories are her three children: Kathleen (Richard) York, of Castle Rock, Wash., Larry (Jeanette) Oeltjenbruns, of Shell Rock, and Annabelle (Robert) Santana, of Sparks, Nevada; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Louise in death were her parents; husband Merle in 1988; and a brother, Don DeCosta.
