Viola Christine (Sours) Rex – October 20, 1895 – March 19, 1974

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. VIOLA REX HELD MARCH 21

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Christine Rex were held Mar 21 at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Marble Rock with burial in Hillside Cemetery. Rev Carroll Robinson was the officiating clergyman.

Mrs. Rex, 78, of Marbel Rock, died Mar 19, 1974 at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City. She had been a resident of the home since Dec 24, '73, when she left Floyd Co. Memorial Hospital.

Mrs Rex was born Oct 20, 1895 in Union Township on her grandparents' farm, the youngest of 4 children, 3 girls & one boy. Her parents were John & Katie nee Gates Sours. She was married to Leland Ross Rex on Nov. 20, 1916 at the Christian Church Parsonage in Mason City. They farmed for 30 years on a farm south of Marble Rock where they continued to reside after their retirement in 1966.

Mrs Rex is survived by her husband Ross of Marble Rock, nieces & nephews including a niece, Lucille Sours, & a grandniece, Sharon Sours, both of Charles City. She was the last of the 4 children, having been preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs Albert (Fern) Lindsay & Jane Sours, & her brother Clifton.
