Clifton Eugene Sours was born September 19, 1944, at Charles City, the son of Claire and Lucille (Pratt) Sours. He attended school in Wisconsin and graduated from the Ventura High School in 1963.

After his schooling, Clifton farmed with his father and worked at Hydrotile in Nashua. He later furthered his education at a welding school in Fargo, North Dakota.

On June 29, 1974, he was united in marriage to Marilyn (Agre) at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Following their marriage, the couple resided on a farm south of Ionia where they were currently residing. He continued to work at Hydrotile and raised Belgian Horses. After the closing of Hydrotile, Clifton went to horseshoeing school and later went to work for Featherlite in Nashua. His failing health forced him into early retirement.

He enjoyed raising horses and working them in the field. He has served as a judge for plowing matches and horse shows. He was a member of the Draft Horse Association and in his childhood was active in 4-H. He enjoyed kids, especially his nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clifton is survived by his wife Marilyn of 30 years of Nashua; his mother Lucille Sours of Charles City; two sisters, Eileen (Willis) Beebe of Eagle Grove and Reverend Sharon Sours of Charles City; as well as his aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Claire Sours.
