Charles City, Iowa - Marjorie Scheidecker, 93, of Charles City, formerly of Clarksville, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Marjorie Scheidecker will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Dr. Steve Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Nashua. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorials may be directed to Moments With the Book, Box 322, Bedford, PA 15522.

Marjorie Scheidecker, 93, of Charles City, formerly of Clarksville, entered into the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Marjorie Scheidecker will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Dr. Steve Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Nashua, Iowa.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Marjorie Marie Ducommun was born April 16, 1919 at Saint Maries, Idaho, the daughter of John and Jeanne (Jacot) Ducommun. She received her education at Saint Maries. Marjorie enjoyed her early years living by the St. Joe River in Idaho. Some of her favorite memories of her childhood were swimming, fishing, and ice skating with her brothers and cousins.

At the age of 18, she moved to Minneapolis for nurse's training and worked various nursing jobs until after World War II. A special serviceman named Paul Scheidecker captured her heart, and they were married on March 28, 1947 and farmed for 40 years before his death on March 22, 1990. She lovingly raised their family of four: John, Ralph, Janet, and Eileen.

She professed the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age, and her priorities were to her Lord and the assembly in Charles City where she worshiped at every opportunity. Marjorie expressed the love and joy that she had for all of her family and friends and loved to entertain and always looked forward to being with them. Marjorie resided at Riverside Senior Living for six years and then moved to the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home for the past five months.

Living family members include four children: John (Jeanie) Scheidecker and Ralph (Margaret) Scheidecker both of Clarksville, Janet (Colyn) Roberts of Nassau, Bahamas and Eileen (Doug) Prigge of Kenyon, Minn.; 11 grandchildren: Ruth Saulsbury,Andrew Scheidecker, Eric Scheidecker, Marisa (Nathan) Anderson, Tyson Scheidecker, Neil (Jodi) Roberts, Brendan (Patti) Roberts, Sherilyn (Tanner) Hanson, Stacy (Adam) Huse, Rachel Prigge and Amber Prigge; a brother, Vernon (Pat) Ducommun and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Keisha Scheidecker; a grandson, Christopher Roberts; and two brothers, Lawrence and Wilfred Ducommun.
