ROCKFORD EARLY SETTLER IS DEAD
RITES FOR GEORGE TREVETT 80, TO BE THURSDAY AT M. E. CHURCH

Rockford, January 2 – George Trevett, 80, one of this community’s old settlers, died at his farm home west of Rockford Monday at 10:15 p.m. His death was due to a stroke, which he suffered Thursday, and pneumonia.

The funeral will be held at the Methodist Episcopal Church here on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will be in the Rockford Cemetery.

Mr. Trevett is survived by three sons; Lee and Irl of Rockford; and Ben of Antioch, California; and one daughter; Mrs. Minnie Matheson of Fairmont, North Dakota.

George Charles Trevett was born September 6, 1854 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the son of George Trevett Sr. and Elizabeth (Whiting) Trevett.

He married Jennie Jane Latham, the daughter of Francis Latham and Margaret (Coates) Latham. His wife died August 16, 1901.

They had 5 children;

Minnie Emma Trevett born October 8, 1882; married Floyd Matheson. She died February 4, 1949 in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon

Lee O Trevett born March 1884…death unknown

Benjamin Howard Trevett born November 11, 1887. He died June 24, 1977 in California

Irl Roy Trevett born January 24, 1893. He died August 8, 1962.

Arthur Ross Trevett born February 16, 1895. He died August 7, 1933
