FORMER MARBLE ROCK RESIDENT DIES IN CANADA

Charles City – Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Westside Cemetery at marble Rock for Loren F. Ahart, 65, who died at his home in Vancouver, British Columbia, Friday.

Ahart was born at Marble Rock and married there to Laurel Ackley in 1915. The couple moved to Vancouver 19 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Roy; Marble Rock; three daughters; Mrs. Galen Lines, Marble Rock; Mrs. Harold Spurbeck, Norca, California; and Mrs. Paul Shalzer, Eugene, Oregon.

Loren Frank Ahart was born September 8, 1896 in Floyd County, Iowa, the son of Charles Ahart and Millie (Dean) Ahart.

He married Laurel Marian Ackley, the daughter of Merton Ackley and Louise (Lucian) Ackley.
