Jeanette Evelyn (Popham) Vietmeier – June 21, 1916 – June 25, 2007

Jeanette Evelyn Vietmeier, of Lodi, Calif., passed away in Lodi on June 25, 2007 at the age of 91.

Mrs. Vietmeier was born in Rockford, Iowa, on June 21, 1916, to David Aeneas and Emma Maria Dowd Popham.

She was raised in Rockford and graduated from Rockford High School in 1934.

She married Lloyd Harold Vietmeier on Jan. 21, 1936, in Rockford. They moved from Iowa first to Moscow, Idaho, then to Las Vegas, Nev., in 1954, back to Idaho, then to Hillsboro, Ore., in 1958. They moved to Antioch, Calif., in 1964, eventually settling in Lodi in 1972.

She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, landscaping, cooking and baking, but most importantly, she enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Vietmeier is survived by her son, David C. (Barbara) Vietmeier of Lodi; daughter, Chris (Marvin) Vietmeier-McDonald of Ranier, Ore.; three grandchildren, Michael (Tina) Vietmeier, Michelle Vietmeier and Tracy (Tony) Felicetta; one great-granddaughter, Madeleine Vietmeier; and three sisters, Gladys Green of Garden Grove, Calif., and Geraldine "Gerry" Popham and Bonnie Popham, both of Lodi.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lloyd Vietmeier in 1998 and two sisters, Mildred Dostart and Genevieve Willert.

Friends are invited to visit from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday at Lodi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 W. Oak Street, Lodi, CA 95240. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
