LAVERNE K. POWERS, 32, SUCCUMBS FROM ILLNESS AT HOSPITAL

Charles City – Laverne K. Powers, 32, died in the Cedar Valley Hospital Thursday evening at 5:45 from pneumonia. His home is in Marble Rock but he had been employed at the Oliver plant for two weeks.

He is survived by his wife and four children, Vernon, Leon, Joyce and Jean and a sister; Mrs. Eva Adams, who has been in the Cedar Valley Hospital for several weeks.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed. The body is at the Grossman Funeral Home.

Laverne Kenneth Powers was born April 23, 1904 in Iowa, the son of Frank and Ida Powers.

He married Lois Louise Schrader, the daughter of Louie and Jessie (Lines) Schrader.

He was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Marble Rock, Floyd, Iowa
