Ermina (Watkins) Quackenbush
June 27, 1853 – February 28, 1931

FUNERAL RITES FOR
MRS. QUACKENBUSH HELD
AT ROCKFORD

ROCKFORD, IOWA - March 6 – The funeral of Mrs. Ermina Quackenbush, a long-time resident of here who went to the home of her son, Robert, at Fallon, Nevada, in December 1930, and who died there Saturday afternoon, was held from the congregational Church this afternoon.

Mrs. Quackenbush was the oldest child of Charles and Delia Watkins and was born on a farm at Farmersburg, Clayton County, Iowa, On June 27, 1853.

With her parents she came to Floyd County and settled on the farm known as the Kuhlemeier farm and where she lived until her marriage to Judson Quackenbush when they moved to a farm in the Quackenbush neighborhood.

Three children were born to this union. The first died in infancy. Mr. Quackenbush died March 19 1884, and following his death Mrs. Quackenbush came to Rockford to live and later returned to the same farm remaining there until after the marriage of her son when she returned to town and purchased the house which has been her home ever since. She was a member of the Congregational Church.

Mrs. Quackenbush is survived by her son, Robert, Fallon, Nevada; four sisters; Mrs. Nannie Semler and Mrs. Mabel Fullerton, Lawton, Oklahoma; Mrs. Blanche Davis of Doran, Minnesota; and Mrs. Grace Murphy, Westfield, New Jersey; one brother, Jarad Watkins, Lincoln, Montana; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
