Services for Harriett E. Gross, 69, of Fairmont, Minnesota, was held Monday, December 17, 1990, at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont. Interment was in Buffalo Township Cemetery in Titonka, Iowa.

Harriet died on Thursday evening, December 13, 1990, at the Fairmont hospital. The Olson Funeral Home of Fairmont arranged the services.

Harriett Elvie Gross, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel (Blake) Gross was born on March 14, 1921 in Algona, Iowa. She attended school in Rockford, Iowa, and graduated from Rockford High School. After high school she taught country school in both Floyd and Emmet counties in Iowa. After teaching she served in the U.S. Army during World War II. She attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, and served as a deaconess for two years in Iowa. She then attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a school for dress designing in Chicago. She later moved to Fairmont, where she lived until the time of her death.

Survivors include five sisters: De Etta Erickson of Fairmont, Frances and her husband Vernon Knoop of Rockford, Iowa, Bernice Jacobson of Chapin, Iowa, Blanche and her husband Gene Crisp of De Berry, Texas, Naomi Rosecke of Austin, Minnesota; four brothers: John Gross of Hayfield, Minnesota, LeRoy and his wife Marie Gross of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Donald and his wife Shirley Gross of Rockford, and Bernard and his wife Coletta Gross of Fort Dodge.

In addition to her parents, Harriett was also preceded in death by brothers Floyd, Iule and Ray Gross; and her sisters, Leota Wibben, Stella Martin, and three infant sisters.

Officiating at the service was Rev. R. T. Reynertson. Pallbearers were Gordan Gross, Wesley Gross, Clifford Jacobson and Norman Jacobson.
