A funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Lydia D. Goetzinger, 86, of Marble Rock, was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Roseville on Saturday, January 26, 1991, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery at Roseville. Father E. Petty celebrated the Mass, with Reid's Funeral Chapel of Marble Rock in charge of arrangements.

Lydia Dominica Bisenius was born March 22, 1904, in rural Ionia, Chickasaw County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Kremer) Bisenius an died on Wednesday, January 23, 1991, at the Nora Springs Care Center.

In 1909 she and her family moved to Charles City, Iowa, where she attended and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in 1922. Following graduation she worked as a mail clerk at the Hart Parr company in Charles City, and later worked as a linotype operator for a newspaper in Morning Sun, Iowa.

She was married to Edwin John Goetzinger on September 11, 1934, at Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in Marble Rock where she assisted her husband as the bookkeeper in his businesses. Her special interests included painting, collecting rocks, arranging flowers, and playing the piano.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Roseville, and was a member of the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin of Marble Rock; two daughters, Janice and husband Earl Parcher of Marble Rock; Nancy Goetzinger and her husband Thomas Ramsay of Minneapolis; two sons, Charles and wife Loretta of Minneapolis and Robert and wife Dorothy of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Claudia Stroud of Marble Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Helen, and a brother, Charles.
