Wesley C. Gaiser, 79, of Rudd, died on Monday, April 15, 1991 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford, with Rev. D. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Wesley C. Gaiser, son of Frank and Minnie (Schultz) Gaiser, was born on June 6, 1911, in rural Cartersville. He married Gladys L. Lines on February 20, 1933, at Rockford. He went to country schools in Owen township. He and his wife farmed near Rockford for 25 years. He worked at Larson-Collect Implement and Rudd Farmers Coop. until retirement. Since retirement he had worked at Hoover's Hatchery until his death.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and enjoyed family gatherings. He loved to fish, do house and yard work and do woodworking. He also enjoyed orchestra music and dancing.

He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the church council and as Sunday School superintendent for several years. He was a member of BPOE Elks No. 418, Charles City, for 45 years. He served as councilman and mayor of Rudd and was on the board of directors of Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys, Rudd; two sons, Harold Gaiser of Mason City, and Gene Gaiser of Nora Springs; one daughter, Marion Dight, Charles City; one brother, Clarence Gaiser, Rockford; and seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hazel and Lillie; and one brother, Harry.
