Funeral services for Robert A. Foutz, 73, of Marble Rock, Iowa, were held on Friday, January 25, 1991, at the Marble Rock United Methodist Church, with burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock. Rev. Shirley Meendering officiated, and Reid's Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Ashley Foutz was born on October 28, 1917, in Marble Rock, the son of Charles and Edna (Losee) Foutz, and died on Tuesday, January 22, 1991, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.
He received his education in the Marble Rock Public Schools and as a young man engaged in farm work in the Marble Rock area.
On January 26, 1945, he was married to Irene Doris Harris, at her parents' home in Greene, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Foutz made their home in Marble Rock. She died on October 23, 1967.
Robert will always be remembered for his cheerfulness and pleasant disposition, always willing to help a friend in need.
He was a member of the Marble Rock United Methodist Church and was caretaker of the church for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosanna Dilworth of Bullhead City, Arizona; two grandchildren, Tanya and Crystal; several foster children; and a sister, Mrs. George (Betty) McBride of Des Moines. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister, Virginia.
