Funeral services for Harry Richard Pearce, 67, of Marble Rock, Iowa, were held on Monday, August 17, 1992 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marble Rock, with Rev. J. Albrecht officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Branson Cemetery in Loveland, Iowa. Reid's Funeral Chapel of Marble Rock is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Richard Pearce was born on January 18, 1925 in Eldora, Iowa, the son of Jospeh H. and Ora (Williams) Pearce, and died on Wednesday, August 12, 1992 at his home in Marble Rock.

He received his education at the Eldora public schools and was inducted into the United States Army on August 16, 1943. He served with the 2073rd Ordinance Company in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre on New Guinea and the Phillippine Islands. He was discharged on October 30, 1948 after serving five years and three months.

On July 3, 1954 he was united in marriage to Yvonne (Fritze) Ziebarth of Charles City at Austin, Minnesota. They lived in the Charles City, Floyd, and Marble Rock areas for several years before moving to Missouri Valley and Modale area. He owned Vonnie's Tap in Marble Rock before moving to Missouri Valley. He worked for Interstate Harvestore in Blair, Nebraska for 11 years before retiring in 1982. He moved back to Marble Rock in October 1990.

He is survived by two sons, Robert of Winfield, Iowa, and Jerry L. of San Dimas, California; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Joshua, Jeriahmia, Monica, and Jason; two sisters, Lucille Fulk of Atlantic, Iowa, and Darlene May of Eldora, Iowa; and three brothers, George of Cedar Falls, Joe Jr. and Donald Both of Waterloo; and a special care giver, Harry Willsher of Marble Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, a daughter, Rita and his wife Vonnie in December 1987.
