Mrs. Fred (Norma) Sheckler Tatum 78, of Glendale, California, and formerly of Nora Springs, died on Wednesday, July 29, 1992 at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale, California.

Graveside services were held on Monday at Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, with Rev. R. Pippert of the United Methodist Church, Nora Springs, officiating.

Mrs. Tatum was born on August 25, 1913, at La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Fred and Mae (Harding) Sheckler. She married Fred E. Tatum on June 26, 1936, at her parents' home in Nora Springs.

She attended Nora Springs schools, graduating from Nora Springs High School. She attended Hamilton Business College, Mason City. For many years Norma was a telephone operator in Nora Springs, moving to Glendale in 1949.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Glendale, California, and the Builders Adult Sunday School Class at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Fred E. Tatum, Glendale; one son, Terry Tatum, Glendale; and one brother, Loren Sheckler of Scottsdale, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Jan Allen Tatum, and two brothers, Howard and Russell Sheckler.
