NASHUA - Roger Brown, 79, of Waterloo, formerly of Nashua, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Manor Care in Waterloo.

At his request there will be no services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

The Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, 641-228-2323, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hauserfh.com .

Roger Brown, 79, of Waterloo, formerly of Nashua, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Manor Care in Waterloo.

At his request there will be no services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Roger George Brown was born May 24, 1933, in Floyd County, the son of George and Hazel (Johnson) Brown. He graduated from Nashua High School in 1952. Roger served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Roger lately worked for the Waterloo Courier and Dohren Flowers enjoying his delivery routes throughout Iowa. His hobbies revolved around the racing community. Between 1977 and the early 1980's he dedicated his time to volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring nine different boys.

Living family members include a niece, Lori Elledge of Elk Run Heights; a nephew Lary Elledge; and his "adopted son" John Taggs of Harlan; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lola Elledge.
