MRS. CHARLES SIMMONDS
Bertha Ziebarth, daughter of Peter and Wilhelmina Ziebarth was born in Lowell, Wisconsin, April 21, 1862 and died at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City, Iowa, July 8, 1930. Aged 68 years, 2 months and 17 days.
She was united in marriage with Charles Simmonds in 1891 and to this union one daughter, Anna, now Mrs. E.G. Guthart was born.
She leave to morn her departure from this life her husband and daughter and seven grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Emma Krumrey, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mrs. Ida Wiltse of Charles City, Iowa.
She united with the M.E. Church early in life and was ever faithful to her church although she had not been able to attend services for many years.
Mrs. Simmonds suffered a stroke fourteen years ago and has been almost helpless during that long period of time.
She was a very courageous woman and bore her affliction with fortitude and courage ever trusting in her Savior throughout her great sorrow.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, July 10, from the Grossmann Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. G. A. Hess pastor of the First Christian Church of Charles City, Iowa with interment in Riverside Cemetery.
