Jennifer Meyers

Jennifer Meyers, 10, a resident of 808 10th Avenue, Charles City, died Tuesday, September 10, 2002, as the result of a semi-truck and bicycle accident.

Funeral services for Jennifer Meyers will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 14, at the First Baptist Church in Charles City. The Rev. Ruth Yeaton, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Visitation will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and an hour prior to the services at the church.

Jennifer Anne Meyers was born July 1, 1992, at Keokuk, the daughter of Gene and Sandy (Howe) Meyers, and was baptized when she was seven at the New Testament Christian Church at Keokuk. She attended Lincoln Elementary School where she was in the fifth grade. Jennifer was a member of the First Baptist Church, Kids Club, and the Junior Jammers Girl Scout Troop. She enjoyed music, reading, helping her sisters, riding her bicycle, and playing games. Alice, the cat, was also very special to Jennifer.

Living family members include her mother, Sandy Meyers of Charles City; father, Gene Meyers of Charles City; two sisters, Amy and Elizabeth Meyers both at home; maternal grandparents, Dan and Alice Howe of Robbinsville, North Carolina; and paternal grandmother, Georgia Meyers of Carthage, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Gene F. Meyers.
