HOLD RITES TUESDAY FOR RETIRED FARMER

Rockford– Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church at Rockford for Thomas C. Casperson, 87, retired farmer.

He died at an Iowa City Hospital Thursday from burns suffered in his Rockford home April 19th. He fell into a grass fire in his garden, receiving first and second degree burns on his legs.

Mr. Casperson farmed near Rockford until his retirement 13 years ago

Survivors include the widow, sons; Paul of Rockford; and Emil of New Hampton; a daughter; Mrs. William Paulus, of Rockford; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren

Thomas C. Casperson was born January 1865 in Germany (1900 US Census), the son of Paul Casperson and Anna (Nissen) Casperson (1925 Iowa Census.

He married Johanna Siewertsen, the daughter of Gerhardt Siewertsen and Catherine (Johanssen) Siewertsen. (1925 Iowa Census)
