LOUIS ERNST FUNERAL SET AT ROCKFORD

Rockford – Louis F. H. Ernst, 54, died Wednesday at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City, following a long illness.

Born in Rockford on February 3, 1898, he was the son of John and Mary Linderkamp Ernst. He had farmed in the area all his life.

Surviving are his wife, four children; Mrs. Gerald Marth, Nashua; Mrs. Eugene Swenson, Northwood; William, Marble Rock; James, Rockford; 10 grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Amedee Fredette of Nora Springs will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.

Louis Fred Henry Ernst was born February 3, 1898 in Rockford, the son of John William Ernst and Mary Linderkamp.

His mother was the daughter of Henry Linderkamp and Anna (Lang) Linderkamp. His parents divorced and his father married Anna Vietmeier in 1910. (his dad is listed as divorced in the 1900 Census).

Louis married Emma Wilhelmina Janssen, the daughter of Willie Janssen and Emilie (Kraatz) Janssen.
