MRS. HUBBARD FUNERAL HELD AT NORA SPRINGS; WAS PIONEER OF IOWA

Nora Springs – Funeral services for Mrs. O. J. Hubbard were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. C. D. James. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Moody with Mrs. Kenneth Shanks, accompanist, sang “Safe in the Arms of Jesus’ and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Burial was in Park Cemetery.

Tuly Risley was born November 26, 1860, at Grand Mound and died at her home here October 29th after a lingering illness.

She grew to womanhood at Grand Mound and in June, 1882 was married to L. S. Sunderlin. About 50 years ago they moved to Nora Springs where Mr. Sunderlin was superintendent of Nora Springs schools and County Superintendent for several years.

They lived several years at Saskatown, Saskatchawan, Canada, and later moved to Spokane, Wshington, where Mr. Sunderlin died in 1911.

Mrs. Sunderlin moved back to Nora Springs with her nephew and niece, Harry, and Margaret Risley, where they made their home until January 1924. Mrs. Sunderlin was married to O. J. Hubbard and lived at Portland until last winter when they moved back to Nora Springs.

Mrs. Hubbard was a member of the Methodist W.C.T.U., the missionary society and Eastern Star Lodge.

She is survived by her husband, O. J. Hubbard and children, four sisters and two brothers.

Pricilla Rosilla “Tuly” Risley was born November 26, 1860, the daughter of Charles Parker Risley and Mary Jane (Miller) Risley.

Her first husband was Lucien B. Sunderlin…1854-1911. He was buried in the Peone Cemetery, Peone, Spokane, Washington.

Her 2nd husband was Orville J. Hubbard 1851-1939. He was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery where his first wife Nettie was buried.

Note***She is found in different census records with names like Priscilla, Lulu, Tuly, Tulia
