Meta (Mrs. Clifford) Francis, 94, of Rudd, Iowa, died Monday, March 9, 1992 in Charles City, Iowa.

Funeral services will beheld on Thursday, March 12, at the United Methodist Church in Rudd, with Rev. M. Reth officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd. Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Meta C. A. Otte was born on May 12, 1897, at Carroll, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Bertha Kremke Otte. She received her education in the area rural schools and on January 7, 1925, she and Clifford Francis were married at Sioux City.

They farmed in the Rockford area from 1940 until their retirement in 1961. They then moved to Rudd and joined the United Methodist Church.

She was a former member of the Royal Neighbors and Floyd County Farm Bureau.

Living family members include two daughters, Wanda (Mrs. Pete) Cruis of Rudd and Myra (Mrs. Verl) Davisson of Wellman, Iowa; a sister, Johanna (Mrs. William) Evans of Neligh, Nebraska; three grandsons, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford in 1972; an infant son; three brothers and two sisters.
