Kenneth M. Christensen, 70, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, January 18, 1992, at Charter Hospital in Des Moines, of heart failure.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at Sunnyside Chapel Funeral Home, Charles City. Rev. D. Coffey of Hanford Community Church, rural Mason City, officiated. Burial was in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City.

Mr. Christensen was born on March 27, 1921, at Greene, Iowa, the son of Hans and Clara (Durschel) Christensen. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He received the Purple Heart. He was employed by Oliver Corp., Charles City, for 34 years.

Survivors include three daughters: Patricia Schriever of Marble Rock, Cathy Johnson of Des Moines, and Jeanine Kendall of Cedar Rapids; one son, Robert Christensen of Rockford; one sister, Nellie Horn, Clarion; one brother, Claude Christensen, Cedar Falls; and 12 grandchildren and four great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Bray and Emma Parson; and a stepdaughter, Jeanette Shannon.
