Lloyd M. Billings, 67, a resident of Charles City, died on Thursday, December 10, 1992 at the 11th Street Chautauqua Home.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Hauser Funeral Home, with Rev. J. Pederson of the Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will occur at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery.

Lloyd Melvin Billings was born on February 2, 1925 in Rockford, Iowa, the son of Luther and Lila Farnham Billings. He graduated from the Rockford High School, and attended Chafee College. During World War II he served in the Army and the Air Corps. On February 2, 1946 he married Ellen Teepe at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

He was a printer for the Des Moines Register, a typsetter for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune, the Charles City Press and the Waterloo Courier. He was also a member of the Typographical Union for 40 years. He served on the Board of Adjustment for the city of Rockford, and was a Boy Scout Scoutmaster in Waterloo.

Living members of his family include his wife, Ellen, of Charles City; two daughters, Mary Ellen Nickless of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Jacqueline (Mrs. James) Poppe of Lewisville, Minnesota; a son, Gregory of Ionia; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Billings was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James; a twin brother, Floyd; a half brother; and one sister.
