Egbert Davis – October 30, 1831 – July 22, 1927

Marble Rock – Egbert Davis, who came to Marble Rock in 1855, passed away at the home of his son, Addison Davis, Friday July 22, 1927, aged 95 years, 8 months, and 22 days.

He was born in the state of New York. On March 2, 1857, he was united in marriage to Miss Fannie M. Ackley, who passed away several years ago.

He is survived by four children; Mrs. Eva Asper, Addison; and Rutherford Davis, of Marble Rock; and Charles Davis, of Henning, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon, in charge of his pastor, Rev. Foster of the Baptist Church.
Interment was in the West Side Cemetery at marble Rock.

Egbert Davis was born October 30, 1831 in New York, the son of Philip Davis and Keturah (Mapes) Davis.

He married Frances Maria “Fanny” Ackley, the daughter of James Ackley and Nancy (Brightman) Ackley.
