KENNETH SMITH DIES AT AGE 61

Funeral services for the father of a Nashua woman were held Tuesday afternoon at the Bethany Alliance Church in Charles City, and interment was at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery there.

Mrs. Merlyn Thorson’s father, Kenneth Smith, 61, died suddenly at his home in Charles City Saturday evening.

In addition to his daughter, Mildred Smith Thorson, Mr. Smith is survived by his widow; his son, David of St. Paul, Minnesota; and two sisters; Mrs. Floyd Meerdink, rural; and Mrs. Dorothy Dowd of Charles City. There are also eight grandchildren.

Kenneth Smith was born September 2, 1907 in Iowa, the son of William Allen Smith and Sarah Malissa (Westervelt) Smith.
