MRS. MAE ELIZABETH ACKLEY

Mrs. Mae Elizabeth Ackley, daughter of Herman and Augusta Arhart, was born in their country home near Marble Rock, Iowa on June 1, 1879.

She passed away at the Kahler Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, at 4:25 p.m. July 5th, following an operation which she underwent June 12th. She had attained the age of 44 years, one month and four days.

She was married to Mr. Joseph H. Ackley of Marble Rock, Iowa on January 17, 1900. To them God gave three boys, Judson, who is nine; Miron, who is six; and Hermon, three years of age.

She is survived by her husband and the three boys. Her father, Mr. Herman Arhart, and one sister; Mrs. W. H. Pachman, reside at Long Beach, California. Two brothers, Fred and Charles Ahart, live near marble Rock. She is also survived by many near relatives and friends, who mourn her passing away. Her mother passed away July 17, 1922.

Mrs. Ackley was and reared in this community. She received her education in the country schools. In her childhood she was instructed ad confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Mrs. Ackley possessed a cheerful disposition, was a hard working woman a faithful wife and loving mother.

She was in poor health for some ten years and has been in a critical condition since last October. She was taken to Rochester Jun 6th, and was operated on June 12th, but the skill at that wonderful institution was not able to stay the hand of death.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon, July 15th, by Rev. P. N. Dwello, pastor of the Marble Rock Methodist Church.

Mae Elizabeth Arhart was born June 1, 1879 in Iowa, the daughter of Harman Arhart and Augusta (Smith) Arhart.

She married Joseph Harland Ackley, the son of Solomon Ackley and his 2nd wife, Minna (Nickolas) Ackley.
