Alice Margaret (Eggert) Miner – March 4, 1882 – February 26, 1963

ALICE M MINER

Charles City – Funeral services were held Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery, for Mrs. Alice M. Miner, 80. She died Tuesday afternoon at the Chautauqua Guest Home, where she had been a patient since January 3rd. She had been in failing health for the past three years.

The widow of Fred B. Miner, former banker and Floyd County supervisor, she was a past president of Chapter CY P.E.O., a member of the Women’s Fellowship and Golden Year’s Fellowship of the First Congregational Church. She was a past present of the 20th Century Club which later became the Charles City Women’s Club, was a member of the Women’s Cemetery Association (Riverside Cemetery), was the first woman school board member of the Charles City School System, a former member of the Charles City Library Board, and taught grade school in the Charles City and Floyd County School systems.

Alice Margaret Eggert was born March 4, 1882 in Rockford, the daughter of Robert and Margaret Hoffman Eggert.

She was married to Fred B. Miner, December 22, 1905, in Charles City. He died July 14, 1943

Survivors are a son, Ronald, Brighton, Colorado; three grandchildren, two sisters; Mrs. J. E. Waggoner, Charles City; and Mrs. Edna F. Young, Lawrence, Kansas.
