CLINTON R SHULTZ DIES AFTER ACCIDENT
INJURED WHILE DYNAMITING STUMPS, DISCOVERED BY NEIGHBOR

Funeral services for Clinton r. Shultz were held Monday, October 4, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Marble Rock, with Rev. J. W. Bearse, pastor of the Methodist church in Marble Rock officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery.

Mr. Shultz was critically injured in a dynamite explosion last Friday afternoon at his farm home. He was found by Mrs. Tom Zurcher, who summoned help and he was rushed to the Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City where he passed away Saturday afternoon.

Clinton Ross Shultz was born October 4, 1886, on a farm near Marble Rock, the son of George and Almira Shultz. He attended school in Marble Rock and graduated from a business course at Charles City College. After graduation he returned to take over the work on the home farm due to the failing health of his father.

Mr. Shultz was married to Edith McCracken of Greene. Two sons, Leo Clinton, who died in infancy, and Earl Raymond were born to this union. Mrs. Shultz passed away soon after the birth of her second son.

On April 4, 1917 Mr. Shultz was married to Myrtle Elfers of Charles City, who survives him.
They were the parents of six sons, the eldest were twins, Lloyd Roy, who died in infancy; Lowell Ross; George Robert; Dean Francis; Morris Donald; and Clyde Merlyn.

He is also survived by six grandchildren; two brothers; Sherman of Canada; Frank of Marble Rock; two sisters; Ada of Marble Rock and Mrs. Ida Gillham of Rockford.
