Funeral services for Earl Raymond Shultz, 81, of Marble Rock, Iowa, were held on Wednesday, May 5, 1993, at the United Methodist Church in Marble Rock. Rev. W. Green officiated, and Reid's Funeral Chapel in Marble Rock was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery at Marble Rock.

Earl Raymond Shultz was born on August 12, 1911 near Marble Rock, Scott township, Floyd County, Iowa, the son of Clinton Ross and Edith (McCracken) Shultz. he died on Sunday, May 2, 1993, at his home near Marble Rock.

He received his education at the rural Scott Township schools, and attended the Greene High School, from which he graduated in 1929.

On August 12, 1938 he was united in marriage to Lanora Preston, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They made their home in Marble Rock until February 25, 1950, when they moved to their present home. To this union were born four children.

Raymond was engaged in the trucking business his entire life, and also hauled gravel for many years. Following his retirement from the trucking business in 1971, he drove Winnebago motor homes to various parts of the country for five years.

He enjoyed travelling, and had been to every state in the union, and was in Alaska over a dozen times. As a pastime he enjoyed reading farm magazines.

Living family members include his wife, Lanora of Marble Rock; two daughters, Edith and her husband, Bob Norris, of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Margaret and her husband, Reldon Beck of Las Cruces, New Mexico; one son, Paul, of Fairbanks, Alaska; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his step-mother, Mrs. Myrtle Shultz of the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City; and four brothers: Lowell and Dean of Charles City, George of Greene, and Clyde of Nashua.

He leaves to join his parents an done brother, Donald, and his son, Earl, who passed away in 1969.
