DIES AT ROCKFORD

Nora Springs – Nora Springs friends of Mrs. Maude Crandall learned recently of her death in Rockford April 16.

Mrs. Crandall had lived in Nora Springs for several years. She returned to her former home at Rockford several months ago. She suffered a light stroke some weeks ago.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church at Rockford Thursday and interment was at Charter Oak.

Maude Eletta Avery was born March 10, 1878 in Jefferson County, Iowa, the daughter of John Avery and Josephine (Lenning) Avery.

She married Oscar Emil Nelson. He was born February 1, 1873 and died August 19, 1912. He is buried in Charter Oak Cemetery, Charter Oak, Crawford Co., Iowa.

Oscar and Maude had 7 children: Martin, Melvin, Bernice, Dottie, Mildred “Toots”, Pearle and Edythe

After the death of Oscar Nelson, she married Wesley Sherman Crandall , son of Joseph and Artemisa (Sherman) Crandall. He was born in 1876 and died in 1955 and is buried in Indiana.

Maude and Wesley had one daughter, Nellie
