MARKER, HARRISON, SCHRADER, BIRETZ

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 2, 1993, for John A. Marker, 77, of Rockford, Iowa, who died on Tuesday, December 29, 1992, at the Nora Springs Care Center. Schumburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pastor John Albrecht of the Rockford Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

John A. Marker was born in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, on October 23, 1915. He moved with his parents, John and Marian (Harrison) Marker, Sr. to the Rockford area three years later.

He was married to Della Schrader in 1938. To this union a son, Lyle (Timm) was born. Della passed away in 1979.

In 1986 he married Barbara B. Biretz, in Nashua.

He was a longtime mechanic for the White Farm Equipment Co. of Charles City, retiring in 1976. Following his general occupation, he was an avid motorcycling enthusiast, personally owning various machines for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Marker, of Rockford; one son, Lyle "Timm" Marker of Rockford; three grandsons, Leon L. Marker of Ramsey, Minnesota; Troy L. Marker of Rockford; and Craig L. marker, U.S.S. Peterson, at Norfolk, Virginia; and two great-grandsons, Cory A. and Curtis J. marker of Ramsey, Minnesota.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; four brothers: Clarence, Harry, Wilbur and Verle; and two sisters, Mabel and Clara Marker.
