Edna Blanche Hodge, 93, of Rudd, died Monday, June 14, 1993 at the Nora Springs Care Center.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, Iowa, with the Rev. M. Reth of the United Methodist Church in Rudd, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.
Edna Blanche Hodge was born on October 16, 1899,in rural Rudd, the daughter of Robert and Amelia (Huschka) Krause. She attended and received her elementary education in the rural Rudd School system, graduating from the Rudd High School in 1918. After completing her high school education she went to Gates Business College in Waterloo, graduating in 1922.
She was united in marriage to Glen Hodge in December of 1942. He preceded her in death in October 1962. After their marriage they owned and operated the Coffee and Grocery Store in Rudd, operating it for several years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, all of Rudd.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Hughes of Auburn, Washington; a son, Bill of Hampton; and six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 12 brothers and sisters.
