MRS. ALBERT HART DIES

A Funeral Mass for Anna Catherine Hart, 89, of Friendship Acre, Marble Rock, Iowa, was held on Thursday morning, October 7, 1993, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Roseville. Rev. P. Schmitt and Rev. W. Brunkan officiated. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Roseville.

Reid's Funeral Chapel in Marble Rock was in charge of arrangements, which included a Parish Rosary Service Wednesday afternoon and a scriptural wake service that evening.

Anna Catherine Schmitt was born on December 20, 1903, in Union township, Floyd COunty, Iowa, a daughter of John C. and Anna (Merfeld) Schmitt. She died on Monday, October 4, 1993, at the Good Sheperd Nursing Home in Mason City.

She received her education in the rural Floyd County schools, and attended St. Mary's School at Roseville. On June 24, 1926 she was married to Albert Hart at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Roseville.

Mrs. Hart was a postal clerk in Dougherty and Marble Rock, and served as postmaster in Marble Rock for a short period of time. She retired in 1975. She was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Roseville and the Rosary Society, Marble Rock Senior Citizens, and the Legion Auxiliary of Marble Rock.

Living family members include two daughters, Louise and her husband, Robert Sorenson of Mason City, and Florence Shook of Marble Rock; two sons, Raymond and his wife, Rose Hart, of Mason City, and Donald Hart of Hillsboro, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Staudt of Marble Rock, and Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Jones of Harlengen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1952, an infant son, Robert; a granddaughter, Shelly Hart; and four brothers: John, Leo, Lorence, and George Schmitt.
