Velma D. Barker, 88, of Nora Springs, died Saturday at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs, Iowa.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, with the Rev. C. Clarkson officiating.

Velma Barker was born on November 23, 1904, in Nora Springs.

Survivors include one son, L.E. Scheffel, Mason City; one granddaughter, Lori Beatty, Mason City; and one great-granddaughter, Whitney Beatty, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one sister.
