Irma R. Behne, 84, of Waverly, Iowa, and formerly of Nora Springs, Iowa, died on Thursday at Bartels Lutheran Home, Waverly.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Nora Springs United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Pippert officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Irma R. Behne was born on September 20, 1908 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, daughter of Rich and Ruth (Langworthy) Hall. She married Lee M. Behne on September 9, 1925 in Winona, Minnesota.

She and her husband farmed in Wisconsin, moving to Iowa in 1937, and then settled in the Nora Springs area. They farmed there until retiring to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1971. She enjoyed sewing and craft work. Irma was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and the Happy Hustlers Neighborhood Club.

Survivors include three sons, Dale Behne and his wife Nadine of Waverly, Jack Behne and his wife Pat of Westminster, California, and Zane Behne of Lisle, Illinois; one daughter, Joan Meister, Huntington Beach, California; two brothers, Russell Hall of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Earl Hall of Agusta, Wisconsin; two sisters, Francis Haskins of Memphis, Tennessee and Phyllis Gilbertson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee, in 1979; one son, Mack; seven brothers and sisters; one step-grandson; and one step-great-granddaughter.
