Antone George “Tony” Hilsman – June 16, 1865 – July 1936

TONY HILSMAN FUNERAL CONDUCTED AT ROCKFORD

Rockford – Funeral services for Tony Hilsman, 71, who died at his country home east of Rockford, were held at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon.

Mr. Hilsman was for many years a blacksmith here.

Born in Varel, Germany, June 16, 1865, he came to America with his parents in 1884 and on June 5, 1903 was married to Miss Bertha Stoecker, who with their son, Ralph, survives, besides three grandsons, one sister; Mrs. Minnie Willert, Rockford and two brothers; John of Crawford, Nebraska; and Henry of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The funeral service was in charge of the Rev. C. G. Fort, pastor of the Methodist church.
