Funeral services were held on Monday, March 7, 1994, at the Peace United Church of Christ at Buckeye, for a former Rockford resident, Joyce Hull Shaver, 55, of Iowa Falls. Burial was in the Union Cemetery at Iowa Falls, with the Rev. B. Miller officiating and the Surls Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Hull was born on September 23, 1938 at Rockford, Iowa, to John and Delia Cook Hull, and received her education here, graduating from Rockford High School in 1956.

She was united in marriage to Merle Shaver on June 1, 1957, and had been living as a home maker in Iowa Falls at the time of her death.

She is survived by her husband, Merle; four sons: Mike of Oskaloosa, Steve of Monroe, Dave of Sioux Center and Ronald of Iowa Falls; and two daughters, Linda Oberender of Iowa Falls and Bonnie Werhan of Elgin. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; one sister, Eva Cantrell of California; and four brothers: Bob Hull of Missouri, Don of Rockford; Vernon and Charles, both of Mason City.

Joyce Hull Shaver was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jane Elizabeth; one brother and two sisters.
