Lynn O. Smith, age 88, of Ft. Myers, Florida, and formerly of Rockford, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, and three daughters: Marilyn Dodd of Marshalltown, Joanne Hendricks of Cedar Rapids, and Dorothy Miller of Ft. Myers, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was born on September 2, 1905 in North English, Iowa, to Omer and Alice Smith. Mr. Smith, a graduate of the University of Iowa, married Jeanne Crabtree on September 2, 1927. He owned his business, the Smith Insurance and Realty in Rockford, for approximately 30 years.

Rockford folks will recall that he was also postmaster for a number of years. Upon retirement in 1978, the Smiths moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1988 they moved to Ft. Myers.

A memorial service was held on April 30, 1994, at the Waterford Retirement Home where the Smiths had resided.
