Vera Townsend, 94 of Sheffield, Iowa, died on Monday, October 7, 1994, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were to be held on Wednesday morning at First Baptist Church, Sheffield, with the Rev. Steve Hollingsworth officiating. Burial, with graveside services, was set for 1:30 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Iowa. Grarup Funeral Home in Sheffield was in charge of arrangements.

Vera was born on October 18, 1899, in Rockford, Floyd County, Iowa.

Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Deets of Mason City, Shirley Gross of Rockford, and DeLoris Ubben of Waterloo, Iowa; one son, Cecil Townsend of Waterloo; one sister, Bernice Paulus of Rockford; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
