Isaac Wilson Chamberlain – April 24, 1884 – August 26, 1961

RITES HELD FOR ISAAC CHAMBERLAIN

Isaac Wilson Chamberlain, the only child of Isaac Porter chamberlain and Eliza Yerrick, was born April 24, 1884, on a farm south of Marble Rock. He passed away August 26th at the home of his daughter Deana Mae Stone.

He farmed near Marble Rock when he was a young man. On August 23, 1909, he was united in marriage to Margaret Mary Paulus, and to this union one daughter, Deana Mae, was born.

After his marriage he owned and operated a blacksmith shop in Marble rock. In 1917 he moved to a farm north of Marble Rock, where he farmed for several years. In 1947 he purchased a farm in Howard’s Ridge, Missouri, where he resided until he entered the hospital in February of this year. “Ike” was a member of the Methodist Church, having joined in 1909.

He is survived by his daughter, Deana Mae; son-in-law, James b. Stone; one granddaughter, Mary Ann Stone; all of Marble Rock; and one grandson Jerry Dean Hubbard, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held on August 29th at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church at Marble Rock. Rev. George Baker officiated at the service.

Lee Adams sang “Beyond the Sunset’ and “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Mrs. Audrey Merfeld, organist.
Casket bearers were Gene Ewald, Art Asmussen, Walter Bohl, LaVern Smith, Maurice Lines and Weldon Sult.

Weaver Funeral Home, Rockford, was in charge of arrangements.
