Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 17, 1994 at Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Home in Mason City, Iowa, for a former Rockford, Iowa, woman, Bessie Irene Theilen. Mrs. Theilen, the former Bessie Hain, died Friday, May 13, 1994, at Americana Home in Mason City.

Bessie was the daughter of Clarence and Clara (Spofford) Hain, and attended rural Rockford schools.

She was married on January 10, 1936 to Harry Theilen, in Mason City. He preceded her in death, as did her parents, two sisters, Bernice Koehler and Margaret Berk, and two brothers, Floyd and Wilbur Hain.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ruby Hammje of Mason City; her son, Clarence Theilen of Otho, Iowa; one brother, Claude Hain of Ventura, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons.
