Wayne Mathers Rites Tuesday; Funeral Will be Held at Grossmann's Chapel
Charles City - Funeral services will be at Grossmann's chapel, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Wayne Walter Mathers, 43, who died in the Cedar Valley Hospital here Sunday, where he had been a patient since Saturday. The Rev. H.M. Grant will officiate and interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
He was born July 18, 1901 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Mathers of Clear Lake. He is survived by a son, Carroll, with the armed forces in Italy; his mother, Mrs. Lillian Mathers, one sister, Mrs. J. Demaray, and a brother, Leonard. His father died in 1931.
Mr. Mathers has been a resident of Floyd County most of his life and of Charles City for several years, and has been employed at Dr. Salisbury's Laboratories and previous to that was an employee of the Capital Tobacco Corp., here.
